Peace dances with wild abandon…
I knit the freeform disk with a very fine silk-wrapped stainless steel thread by Habu Textiles. For the background I used scraps of dyed silk shibori ribbons made by Glennis Dolce. The colors and accordion folds of the silk, and the ability to shape and mold the knitted disk, let me create the sense of movement that I wanted to convey Peace dancing, though this is lost somewhat in a static photograph.
