Inspired by the Japanese practice of kintsugi -- "golden joinery" -- using lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum to repair broken pottery. The idea is that the repaired object is more beautiful, more precious, for having been broken, that its history is something to be celebrated.
