I've been doing a little mending.

I found this wonderful denim workshirt in a thrift store, perfect but for a couple of small stains on the front.

A few simple stitches later, problem solved! (The white stitches are laced with blue thread, which alas doesn't show well in this photo.)

And, after having it in my mending box for years, I have finally begun mending this patchwork jacket. I've had it for something over 25 years, and for most of those years I wore it pretty much all the time in the spring and fall, until the fabric frayed, sometimes into nothingness. It seemed a good candidate for some boro-style mending:

Although I've got quite a bit more stitching to do, though, before I can wear it again, this is a quietly rewarding and contemplative process.
