...or, in my case, a cup of coffee and a temari special order. Like the siblings who will receive these, the three temari will be clearly related yet not identical.
We watched the sky last night. Crystal clear, the moon enormous, and then the shadow creeping, turning the moon into a glowing ember suspended among the stars. And oh, the stars! As the moon dimmed, the stars, already brilliant, brightened even more, the Milky Way vibrant. At one point, a shooting star streaked beneath the red moon.
The only thing that could have made this spectacular night more spectacular? Northern lights. I haven't seen them in years; it's been too cloudy, or I've been too sleepy to venture out in the wee hours on a cold, clear night to search the sky for the irridescent bands and waves of light.
For now, this new temari will have to stand in until I'm lucky enough to see Aurora again.
Sunday breakfast: the first--but not the last!--homemade apple pie of the season, with a side of socks.
Yarn: Viking Nordlys color 949, with some blue wool/nylon mystery yarn from stash for heels and toes. Pattern: Yankee Knitter Classic Socks.
By the time I'd drained my coffee, the toe was done and I had a new pair of socks.
After all that linen stitch, back to temari this weekend.
