New temari.
New temari.
It is undeniably late August. Here, school has started, and my younger son leaves for college in less than a week. The leaves are beginning to look tired, a deep rusty green that soon enough will turn red, orange, gold.
But summer is not quite over yet. There is still time for ice cream cones! And for summer bright colors. I've just added this pattern for my Neon Brights Summer Scarf to the Free Patterns page.

The scarf is knit in five colors of Hempathy yarn from Elsebeth Lavold. It's knit in linen stitch, in the round, using a self-fringing technique detailed here.
Twisted fringe, see here for visual tutorial.
I hope this brings some color to brighten the waning days of summer!
New temari. I know-- just last week I made a temari inspired by Pulcinella, but that sly trickster dressed in white, black, and red just won't leave me alone!
